frESCO for the Island of Krk
During this panel, a framework for setting up a smart grid project on an island was discussed with particular focus on integrating blockchain technology. The panel blended experts from industry, academia, and smart solution providers to seek local solutions to trigger a smart energy environment. Mr Hrvoje Keko from KONCAR KET presented the work already in progress on the island of Krk, with particular focus on the potential solutions offered by the frESCO project. The panel was organized as a part of the 10th Energy Conference of the Island of Krk, and under the patronship of the President of the Republic of Croatia.
frESCO’s activities to be developed in Krk will be conducted in the framework of strategy for zero greenhouse gas emissions and integrated sustainable development of the island.
frESCO will explore the business case of integrated energy services including distributed generation, consumption automation and building retrofitting, exploiting the synergies with existing renovation programmes and comparing the impact with old and inefficient buildings in the same locations.
